Nigerian Can Renew Passport Abroad Seamlessly – FG

To renew or apply for international passport abroad, including in North America, can now be done seamlessly for Nigerians aged 18 and above.

This development is part of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s progressive reforms adopting technology to remove bottlenecks associated with visas and passports issuance in Nigeria and diaspora.

Under the new system, there will be no more visits to the embassy required.

To access the service, simply download the NIS Mobile App from the Google Play Store on any smart device and follow the guided steps.

Once approved, your passport will be delivered to you via courier service in record time, no delays.

The service will also be available on the Apple App Store starting June 15, 2025.

Please note that the Nigerian government has not authorised any third-party company to process passport applications.
