Senator Ned Nwoko’s Healthcare Drive Benefits Three Communities Across Federal Constituencies in Delta North

Senator representing Delta North senatorial district, Ned Nwoko orchestrated a three-day free medical outreach spanning three communities across the three federal constituencies in Delta North. The outreach, conducted from November 26th to 28th, provided essential medical services to over 500 beneficiaries.

This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the G-North Synergy / Trwills Medicare, a Federal Government nominee, unfolded within the primary health centers strategically positioned within these communities – Idumuje-Ugboko, representing Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, Umunede, representing Ika federal constituency and Umusa, representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani federal constituency.

According to the reports made available by Dr. Tuebi Richard Wilson, Medical Director Trwills Medicare and Head of the medical outreach team, the cases seen and attended to during the outreach include diabetes, ophthalmologic issues, hypertensive emergencies, malaria, dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), pelvic inflammatory disease, skin eruptions, vaginal candidiasis, eye care, general check-ups, dental care, tumor removal, vaccinations, and specialized treatments.

Senator Nwoko in his statement highlighted the program’s primary focus on catering to the healthcare needs of those residing in rural areas, acknowledging the dire necessity for accessible medical services within these communities.

He emphasized that this first batch is only the beginning. Assuring that the program is set to progressively extend its reach, systematically engaging all nine LGAs within the senatorial district and ultimately encompassing every community within Delta North.

“The program was initiated to cater to the healthcare needs of the people, particularly rural dwellers. It’s evident that many of those in dire need of healthcare reside in rural areas. Consequently, the first batch of this medical outreach focused on three strategic locations, each representing the three Federal constituencies within the Delta North senatorial district: Idumuje-Ugboko for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency, Umunede for Ika Federal constituency, and Umusa for Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal constituency.

“This initial phase is just the beginning; the program will gradually expand, encompassing each of the nine LGAs constituting the senatorial district and eventually reaching all communities within Delta North.

“The sentiment that ‘health is wealth’ echoes the personal and passionate nature of health. No amount of government benevolence can compare to addressing the healthcare needs of the people. A healthy individual is better poised to appreciate the government’s efforts in other aspects. Therefore, it’s imperative to ensure every individual has free access to healthcare, fostering a healthier and more appreciative society.” The Senator’s message read.

The lawmaker’s statement was conveyed through his chief of staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, SSA on Health Monitoring to the Delta State governor. He highlighted the Senator’s dedication to healthcare, emphasizing his focus on having bills and motions aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure. Notably, the Senator advocates for state-of-the-art hospitals, envisioning the establishment of one such facility in each state across Nigeria.

Responding to newsmen, the chief of staff noted that the Senator’s active involvement in organizing and supporting this initiative is an action in line with his campaign promise of addressing healthcare disparities within Delta North.

“As you can see, the number of people coming out and availing themselves of these medical services shows the immense need for initiatives like this among our people. This marks merely the outset of this medical outreach; soon, we will reach out to each community step by step.” He further stressed.
