Google on Monday, announced the results of its 2023 Year in Search, showing Mohbad, Moyo Lawal, Asake, Gangs of Lagos, and who is the winner of the 2023 election? among the top searched topics, people, films, and questions by Nigerians this year.
Google’s 2023 Year in Search contains a compilation of people, topics, moments, events and places and high-profile deaths that stole the world’s attention each year.
Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad, topped both categories of top trending news and top trending deaths searched by Nigerians this year.
Mohbad died under controversial circumstances on September 12. He was aged 27.
Actress Moyo Lawal whose leaked video went viral in September, topped both trending people and trending actors categories.
Jade Osiberu’s Gangs of Lagos, Asake and his hit song ‘Lonely at the Top’, Netflix hit Shanty Town and Ukrainian footballer Mudryk, topped in their respective categories, revealing Nigerians’ love for film, music, sport, entertainment and athletes.
