Nigerian doctor’s record-breaking attempt: ‘King of steeze’, Oreagba, Aproko Doctor cheer
The artist has already surpassed the existing Guinness World Record of 629.98 metres and is determined to exceed 1,000 square metres of artwork.
The Managing Director of NG Clearing, Farooq Oreagba, fondly called “King of Steeze,” visited the Onikan Stadium in Lagos on Saturday to show his support for Dr. Fola David in his record-breaking attempt.
Oreagba’s visit comes as David strives to create the world’s largest painting by an individual.
The image of Oreagba, who stole the show at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, is among those featured on David’s drawing.
In a post on Instagram, David stated, “I had to take him (Oreagba) to see his image on the largest drawing in the world by an individual!”
Popular health influencer, Dr. Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, was also spotted at the stadium with his wife, Chiamaka.
Celebrities like actor Olumide Oworu, skit maker Abdulgafar Ahmad, aka Cute Abiola, and comedian Michael Sani, aka MC Lively, are among many others who visited the stadium to offer their support and witness his artistic feat firsthand.
Government officials, including the Director General of the National Gallery of Art, Ahmed Sodangi; Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa-Musawa; Lagos State Commissioner for Youths, Mobolaji Ogunlende; and Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatolu; and some Senior Special Assistants to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have also visited the stadium in expression of their support.
Recall that a former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, visited David at the stadium on Friday.
David’s artwork, titled “Unity in Diversity,” will feature a map of Nigeria highlighting the country’s diverse tribes through their unique attire, languages, art, and essence.
The record-breaking attempt, which commenced on July 16 at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos, is scheduled to end on Sunday, July 21.
