    Ososo Carnival 2024: Celebrating Culture, Boosting Local Tourism, and Driving Economic Growth

    Ososo, Edo State, Nigeria December, 2024 

    The vibrant town of Ososo in Edo State is proud to announce the highly anticipated Ososo Carnival 2024, taking place from December 27 to December 30, 2024.

    This year’s event, themed “Heritage and Harmony,” promises to be an unforgettable celebration that will highlight the rich cultural traditions of Ososo and Edo State, while bringing significant benefits to local tourism and economic development.

    For four days, Ososo will transform into a hub of cultural festivity and entertainment, showcasing the unique heritage, artistry, and unity of the Ososo people. The Ososo Carnival has quickly become a cultural hallmark in Edo State and beyond, drawing attendees from across Nigeria and international visitors seeking authentic Nigerian experiences. This year, The 496 Company, in partnership with the Ososo Carnival Initiative will take the celebration to new heights, amplifying its impact on tourism and the local economy.

    Highlights of Ososo Carnival 2024

    The carnival will feature an exciting lineup of activities, designed to attract and entertain attendees of all ages, including:

    1. Opening Ceremony and Bon fire Night – Kicking off with a spirited opening ceremony, the carnival will also include a bonfire celebration on the top of the Ikokoro mountain, encouraging community involvement, peace and unity.

    2. Mountain Hike and Breakfast – Participants will embark on a guided hike up Ososo’s stunning mountains, off ering breathtaking views and a unique outdoorexperience, and enjoy an authentic breakfast experience with one on the best culinary expert in Edo state.

    3. Face of Tourism Edo Pageant Grand Finale – The carnival will host the crowning of the Face of Tourism Edo beauty queen, showcasing local beauty, talent and culture.

    4. Music Festival and Bonfire Night – Each night, the carnival grounds will come alive with performances from top artists, cultural dancers, and a grand bonfire for storytelling, unity, and celebration.

    5. Carnival Procession and Cultural Exhibition – The streets of Ososo will be filled with color as masquerades, dancers, and performers join the carnival procession, celebrating Edo’s cultural heritage.
