Celebrating Five Years of Impact: OMO Foundation Commissions Borehole Projects to Mark Anniversary

Ojo-Ede (OMO) Foundation today marked its 5th anniversary, celebrating a legacy of empowering communities through sustainable development initiatives. To commemorate this milestone, the Foundation commissioned three borehole projects, reinforcing its commitment to improving lives through access to clean water.

Founded on October 25, 2019, the OMO Foundation has been dedicated to breaking barriers and building bridges by delivering humanitarian aid and empowering individuals to thrive. From education to healthcare and community development, the Foundation has consistently championed sustainable growth aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking at the event, Dr. Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojo-Ede, Founder of the OMO Foundation, emphasized the significance of the Foundation’s mission. “Our vision has always been to foster growth, create pathways for independence, and promote unity and understanding in communitiesnacross the country. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the lives we have touched and the impact we have made together,” he stated.

    Remarks from Dignitaries

The Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ashima, commended the Foundation for its dedication to community development, particularly in providing access to clean water. “The OMO Foundation has set an excellent example of how organizations can partner with local communities to address critical challenges. These borehole projects are a lifeline for our people, and we are grateful for this transformative initiative,” he said.

Delta State PDP Chairman, Hon. Solomon Areyinka, praised the Foundation for its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and its commitment to the well-being of underserved communities. “As we mark this anniversary, we celebrate a Foundation that has consistently prioritized the needs of the people. The OMO Foundation’s contributions to education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability are a testament to what can be achieved when compassion meets action,” he remarked.

Highlights of the OMO Foundation’s Achievements

    Community Development

Conducted numerous outreach programs aimed at fostering unity, enhancing social cohesion, and empowering individuals for sustainable change.

Aligned efforts with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), providing thousands with skills training and improved livelihoods.

    Education

Renovated schools, provided scholarships, and funded educational materials for rural schools, ensuring access to quality education (SDG 4).

Launched mentorship and vocational training programs equipping young people with essential life and job skills.

    Healthcare

Improved access to medical services, especially in rural and riverine areas, focusing on maternal healthcare and common ailments.

Raised awareness about critical health issues, including malaria prevention and mental health, in line with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

    Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship

Implemented projects addressing environmental degradation and promoting waste management practices.

Commissioned three borehole projects, ensuring thousands now have access to clean water, a fundamental human right critical for health, education, and economic productivity.

    Partnerships and Collaborations

Leveraged partnerships with volunteers, community leaders, and stakeholders to drive impactful interventions.

    Looking Ahead

As the OMO Foundation celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to expanding its reach and deepening its impact. Plans are underway to scale up interventions in education, healthcare, community development, and environmental sustainability.
