The federal lawmaker representing Bali/ Gassol Federal Constituency in Taraba State, who also doubles as the Chairman of the House Committee on Nigeria-China Relations, Hon. Jaafaru Yakubu has been honoured with the Excellent Legislative Award for strengthening the relationship between Nigeria and China Republic.
The award was presented during the New Year Gala Celebration between Nigeria and China at a grand event held in the nation’s capital.
The recognition, according to the organiser, was to celebrate Yakubu’s visionary leadership and dedicated service in fostering and strengthening the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China.
“Under his stewardship, the ties between the two nations have not only deepened but have also seen a concerted effort to address and bridge the trade deficit gap, creating a more balanced and mutually beneficial economic partnership.”

Some of the stakeholders who spoke at the event highlighted Hon. Yakubu’s commitment to fostering diplomatic and trade relations, which they said has paved the way for enhanced collaboration in key sectors such as commerce, technology, and cultural exchange,” a statement by the organisers read in bits.
It further noted, “The award highlights the significant strides Nigeria has made in leveraging its legislative prowess to build stronger ties with global partners.
“Hon. Yakubu’s contributions serve as a testament to the pivotal role legislative leadership plays in driving international cooperation and development.”
The New Year Gala Celebration was attended by top dignitaries, legislators, diplomats, and key players in the Nigeria-China relationship, including the Minister of Art, Cultural, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, marking yet another milestone in the shared commitment to fostering friendship and prosperity between the two nations.
