On Sunday, 21 December 2024, I had the privilege of visiting Ilogbo Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area. My mission was to gauge the sentiments of the community and assess the broader implications of an upcoming landmark event—the visit of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
I embarked on this journey alongside Barrister Olu Aluko, Technical Advisor to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Strategic Engagement. Our insightful discussions with local leaders, including Pastor Tunde Abdulahi, the RCCG Regional Pastor in Ekiti, illuminated the multifaceted potential of this visit.
While many may interpret this event purely through a spiritual lens, it is also a profound opportunity for religious tourism and economic growth. Pastor Adeboye’s visit is projected to draw over 10,000 attendees, including RCCG members, devotees from across Nigeria, and international visitors
