NNPCL promotes women empowerment in ‘She-Fix 2025’ technical fields

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Retail Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to gender inclusivity in technical fields through its flagship event, She-Fix 2025, to empower women in the automotive, technical, and energy sectors.
The initiative, held in commemoration of International Women’s Day, themed, “Driving Diversity and Powering Progress”, was held in Lagos.
According to a statement issued on Friday, the event underscored the critical role women play in innovation, national development, and economic growth.
It noted that it featured hands-on training, live demonstrations, and interactive discussions, highlighting women’s increasing contributions to male-dominated industries.
The Managing Director of NNPC Retail, Huub Stokman, emphasised the company’s dedication to gender equality.
“She-Fix 2025 represents our collective commitment to recognising and elevating women’s voices and contributions across various industries. We believe that empowering women in technical fields will drive economic progress and innovation,” Stokman stated.
Similarly, the Senior Business Adviser representing the Executive Vice President, Downstream, NNPC Limited, Cyprian Onwuegbu, reiterated the company’s unwavering stance on inclusivity.
“NNPC is steadfast in promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion. She-Fix symbolises our ongoing commitment to creating an equitable and progressive workplace for women,” He added.
Beyond advocacy, it said She-Fix 2025 provided practical skills training to women in technical fields.
It added that attendees joined car care sessions, live diagnostics, and a marketplace for female-led businesses, with discounts supporting women in energy.
According to the statement, the event also served as a networking hub, connecting industry leaders, aspiring female technicians, and professionals in the energy and automotive fields.
Meanwhile, it asserted that NNPC’s She-Fix 2025 has set a precedent for corporate institutions championing gender inclusivity.
“By equipping women with practical skills and professional opportunities, the initiative aligns with broader global efforts to close the gender gap in technical sectors,” it mentioned.
“As Nigeria pushes for a more diversified and inclusive workforce, the initiative reinforces the need for sustained efforts in empowering women across all industries,” it stated.
