Deyemi Okanlawon calls Japan filming best

Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, has described his recent adventure filming in Japan, calling it the best experience of his life.

The movie star, who made his debut in the Japanese entertainment industry in March 2025, recounted his experience during a feature appearance on a Japanese program.

He narrated that he had spent three months in Japan working on a sci-fi television series in collaboration with NHK Japan, one of the country’s biggest broadcast networks.

“I just got back from filming a sci-fi television series in Japan. They needed an African character, did their research, and called me on board. I was there for three months filming. It was the best experience of my life,” Okanlawon said.

He had lauded the Japanese work ethic and dedication to quality, stating, “If there is anything you know about the Japanese, it is that they have the spirit of excellence.”
