The final phase of the 2027 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup will be played at Nu Stadium, the new home of Inter Miami CF, with four of the world’s leading women’s clubs set to battle for the inaugural intercontinental title in January.
FIFA announced that the semi-finals, bronze-medal match and final of the second edition of the competition will take place in Miami, with the decisive double-header scheduled for Sunday, January 31.
Mexico’s Club América Femenil and UEFA Women’s Champions League holders FC Barcelona Femení have already secured places in the final phase, while the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina champions and the winners of the CAF/AFC/OFC qualification route will complete the four-team field.
The competition brings together the reigning champions from the six continental confederations to determine the world’s leading women’s club side.
Before the tournament moves to Miami, the opening round will see AFC Women’s Champions League holders Naegohyang Women’s FC face OFC Women’s Champions League winners Auckland United FC.
The winners will then meet the CAF Women’s Champions League holders in the second round, with the victor advancing to Miami.
In the semi-finals, the Round 2 winners will face Concacaf champions Club América Femenil, while Barcelona will take on the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina winners.
The tournament will culminate in the bronze final followed by the trophy decider on January 31, with FIFA expected to release the detailed fixture schedule later.
FIFA Chief Football Officer Jill Ellis said the competition was created to provide the world’s leading women’s clubs with a regular platform for global competition.
“The FIFA Women’s Champions Cup was created with a clear ambition: to give the best clubs in the world the chance to compete on the global stage every year,” Ellis said.
“Following an incredible first edition that featured an unforgettable final in London, we’re now bringing the world’s top clubs to Miami.”
Miami has already hosted major FIFA events, including eight matches at last year’s FIFA Club World Cup and seven matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The final phase will be held at Nu Stadium, which opened in April and is the new home of Inter Miami CF.
Inter Miami CF and Nu Stadium Chief Revenue Officer Iñigo Aznar said hosting the competition represented another step in establishing Miami as a major international sporting destination.
“Hosting the final phase of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2027 is another important step in that journey, bringing the champions of the world’s leading confederations and some of the best women’s footballers on the planet to our new home,” Aznar said.
The FIFA Women’s Champions Cup was approved by the FIFA Council in May 2024 and is held in years when the FIFA Women’s Club World Cup is not scheduled.
Arsenal Women FC won the inaugural edition last year after defeating Barcelona in the final in London. The 2027 tournament will therefore crown a new champion when the leading continental clubs converge on Miami.
With Barcelona and Club América already qualified, attention now turns to the remaining continental competitions that will determine the final two contenders for the global crown.
