Adeboye narrates what God said, advises youths to maintain destined place of worship

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has encouraged youths to remain where God has divinely positioned them instead of moving from one church to another.

He gave the charge during the June edition of the Holy Ghost Service, themed “Destined for Greatness (Part 2),” which held in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, at the Redemption City of God, Ogun State.

Adeboye cautioned young Christians against the growing trend of hopping from one denomination to another, stressing the importance of divine placement and spiritual stability.

“Discover where God wants you to stay, and stay there,” he advised.

Adeboye revealed how God warned him in a dream against leaving the RCCG, saying it could cost him the life of his firstborn.

He said, “When I got born again, there were three major ministries that were making waves, and they were very good. There were different temptations to go from one to another.

“But God said to me, ‘Son, I brought you here. This is where you will stay. The day you leave this denomination; your firstborn will die.’”

“I am not saying we are better than any other denomination,” he added.

Adeboye explained that at the time, RCCG was relatively unknown, with its headquarters in a modest building in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

Despite being a university lecturer, he said he submitted to the leadership of his spiritual father, who had no formal education.

“I was a lecturer at the university. My father in the Lord didn’t go to secondary school, not even primary. But God said this is where you will stay,” he said.

Adeboye made it clear that his message was not to claim spiritual superiority for RCCG over other churches but to emphasise obedience to God’s direction.
