Jonathan distances self from Instagram stories, says it’s fake

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has alerted Nigerians over a fake Instagram account pulling in hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting followers.

In a statement on Wednesday, his media aide Ikechukwu Eze warned that the account — operating under the handle goodluck_ebelejonathan is a fraud, lifting posts from Jonathan’s verified Facebook page and passing them off as his own.

Eze noted that the former president does not operate any Instagram account and urged the public and media to ignore, avoid sharing, or promoting anything from the impostor profile.

Shockingly, the page already boasts over 300,000 followers and more than 250 posts.
