OBUMNEME AKUNYILI, THE PROUD SON OF LATE DR. CHIKE SETS TO REMEMBER DAD…

Obumneme, the last son of late Dr. Chike and Prof. Dora Akunyili has organised his older siblings to remember their patriarch on the anniversary of his fourth year of demise with a free medical outreach.
The free medical consultation and counselling, an annual outreach billed for every 28th of September to commemorate the passage of the deceased who died in Sept 2021.
In his honour, the memorable humanitarian outreach which usually provide free healthcare services for those who are challenged and are in dire need is to be held at his hospital’s premises- St. Leo’s hospital, Nike Lake Road, Trans-Ekulu in Enugu State.
Of a truth, the prayers of every father, perhaps parents, is to have their wards look after them and preserve their legacies even when they are no more. To this, the last son, who is the Director of Project monitoring office under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State is doing it to the latter by galvanizing and coordinating his siblings to always do this every year in good memory their father who is known for treating the downtrodden and the seminarians for more than four decades with no costs, which earned him the Papal Knight of St. John International.
Without gainsaying, it takes a well-trained child and good character personality like Obumneme not to trash into dustbin what he knew the dad strongly stood for during his lifetime; unlike some prodigal sons who render memories of their beloved into oblivion. This message and impact on humanity’s life he has carried on from his father, and he has been living up to the inferred meaning of his name Onumneme- “instigator” for years being without signs of tiredness or weakness.
No doubt, one cannot have Obumneme as a son of Agbalanze of Agulu without being proud of him for always leading transparently from the front to carry on on his father’s humanitarian, selfless service, which whom he’s well known for.
