Legends Decemba: Tubaba, 9ice, Basketmouth, Faze to storm Balmoral Convention Centre

    TUBABA

Afrobeats legends Tubaba, Faze and 9ice are set to headline the 3rd Edition of the annual comedy and music concert, MainlandLaffs on Sunday December 7, 2025.

The event, scheduled to be held at the biggest event venue on Lagos Mainland – the Balmoral Convention Centre at Sheraton hotels in Ikeja, is tagged Legends Decemba as it brings members of the legendary boy band Plantashun Boyz, together on stage for the first time in almost 20 years.

The event also features standup comedy icons, BasketMouth, Kenny Blaq, Dr Smiles, Husband Material, 16 Oniru, Omini Aho, MC Bishop and Larry J.

According to the Executive Producer of the show, Mannie Udoh, MainlandLaffs was created to address the cliché among Lagosians that Lekki and Victoria Island are the only destinations for premium events.

“We are a family entertainment brand and our USP is that we host the biggest family entertainment events on the Lagos Mainland”.

“This is why over the years we have continued to ensure that we take the quality of entertainment higher with every edition. This year, Sunday December 7 will be full day of fun, excitement and quality entertainment, with three mega events in one,” he said.

The day starts at 12Noon with the Christmas Pop-Up Sales Party where over 100 vendors and brands will be selling exciting items, big and small with amazing discounts on offer and with a lot to eat and drink. The first 100 Shoppers will get a Free Christmas Hamper!

The First Show starts by 2PM, tagged Decemba2Rememba. It is designed as a Mega GospelMusicComedy fest, featuring mainstream gospel acts with DJ Horphuray on the wheels of steel and Blackboy MCM as the Hypeman. Top gospel music sensations, Angeloh, Oba Reengy and Protek Illasheva will be on stage bringing the roof down!

This event is a praise fest, with comedy, dancers and other performers creating a perfect atmosphere to get the Christmas and End-of-Year thanksgiving party started. RedCarpet host is the talented actress and influencer, Ruby, known for her role as Nnenna in the 2022 Netflix series ‘Far From Home’.

The second show and evening finale starts by 5PM as the red-carpet lights up to literally bring the city of Ikeja to its feet, when the legends hit the stage, led by 2baba, Faze, 9ice with rib cracking jokes from Phronesis, Husband Material, Dr Smiles, 16 Oniru, Omini Aho, MC Bishop, Abaire.com and many more exciting new acts.

The red carpet will be hosted by the delectable Amanda Dara (OpenUp Podcast, face of LUSH Hair).

Tickets to attend the Mainlandlaffs MusicComedy Concert at 2PM and 5PM have since been available on Afritickets.

The Show promoter and Country Manager for Etu Odi Communications, Mr. Olumide Campbell, reiterated that the idea for MainlandLaffs is beyond entertainment. This event serves as a platform to showcase the Mainland as the heart of Lagos, celebrating its values, diversity, creativity, and cultural vibrancy.

“Every detail of the evening, from the backdrop design and table arrangements (named after specific Lagos Communities) to the branding and LED backdrop has been thoughtfully curated to highlight the distinct identity of our state, showcasing the Lagos Mainland as the epicenter of the fun and creativity that makes up this Centre of Excellence.

“The Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton is a premium location that is perfect for an event of this class, it is situated in the heart of the capital city of Lagos and offers space and convenience, from an ample parking lot to high level security, serene environment, classy indoor aesthetics and lots more,” Campbell explained.
