Uber has introduced a new hotel booking feature within its app as part of its strategy to evolve into a comprehensive “everything app.” The service, developed in partnership with Expedia, allows users to search and reserve hotel rooms from a selection of more than 700,000 properties. The feature integrates travel tools such as maps, filters, and pricing options, while enabling payments through saved card details already stored in the Uber platform. According to Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, the company is expanding beyond ride-hailing and food delivery to become a unified platform for a wide range of everyday services. Expedia CEO Ariane Gorin said the collaboration is aimed at simplifying travel planning and reducing the steps required to complete bookings. Uber also plans to extend the partnership to include short-term rental listings through Vrbo in the future. The move reflects a broader global trend toward multifunctional apps that combine services like transport, shopping, and payments in a single ecosystem, similar to platforms such as WeChat and Alipay in China. Other tech companies are also pursuing similar “super app” models, including Airbnb, which has added experiences and personal services, and X, which is exploring financial services integration. Uber further revealed plans to incorporate AI-powered tools, including meal planning, shopping list creation, delivery coordination, and a voice assistant for navigating the app.

Dr D.K. Olukoya of MFM Releases 2026 Prophecies

    MFM’s Olukoya

The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has warned that 2026 will be a fast, strange, and spiritually demanding year.

He also urged nations, churches, families, and individuals to embrace righteousness and intensive prayer to avert confusion and calamity.

Olukoya gave the warning on Thursday morning at the Prayer City, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, during the church’s 2025 crossover service into 2026, where he shared what he described as a prophetic outlook for the coming year, themed, “My Year of Great Deliverance and Fresh Glory.”

According to him, “2026 will be another flying year—very fast, strange, and troublesome. Prophetically, the trends of 2025 will flow into 2026, and we must re-strategise spiritually.”

He said the year would be marked by both positive and negative surprises.

“It is a year of surprises—good surprises for the righteous and bad surprises for the unrighteous,” he declared.

Speaking on national and global issues, Olukoya said the “mighty hand of God” would be evident across many nations.

“This year, the mighty hand of God shall be felt in many nations. Nations that practise righteousness shall be well, but nations that reject righteousness will experience confusion,” he warned.

He also predicted divine judgment and recompense, noting that betrayal and moral compromise would attract severe consequences.

“It is a tragic year for traitors and disloyal people, and a year of tragedy for unfaithful married ones,” he said.

Olukoya cautioned that churches would not be spared divine scrutiny.

“The tables of evil traders within churches shall be turned upside down,” he said, adding that God would “pass through nations, families, and churches to reward and to judge.”

On security concerns, he urged believers to pray against strange disasters.

“We need united and intensive intervention against strange happenings, fire outbreaks, and explosions. Many of these are not natural,” he warned.

He further disclosed that dark forces would intensify efforts to recruit children.

“There is a renewed strategy of the kingdom of darkness to recruit children. A lot of damage has been done already, and we must pray,” he said.

Despite the warnings, the cleric said 2026 would also be a year of restoration and supernatural lifting for believers.

“This is a year of strange and mysterious lifting for many believers. It is a year of divine recompense. So many people who suffered past losses shall be mysteriously and bountifully restored,” he declared.

He stressed that prayerlessness would attract danger.

“This year will be big trouble for the prayerless. It is not a year to be prayerless,” Olukoya said, adding that “all evil powers shall shall fail.”

Outlining what he described as “keys for survival,” Olukoya urged Christians to adopt what he called solution-driven evangelism.

“We must practise solution evangelism. Heaven will empower strong evangelists so that evangelism will thrive,” he said.

He encouraged regular fasting and prayer, recommending fasting at least twice a week.

“Pray the way you have never prayed before. Pray until something happens. Have violent faith,” he charged.

Olukoya also warned against fear and anxiety.

Avoid fear, worry, and anxiety. These three things have been sent to kill people,” he said.

Advising believers on personal conduct, he added, “Don’t compare yourself with anybody else, even if they are mocking you. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Focus on your strengths and potentials, not your limitations.”

He urged Christians to strive for excellence and avoid people-pleasing.

“Be a God-pleaser, not a people-pleaser. One mark of failure is trying to please everybody,” he noted.

Olukoya emphasised the importance of spiritual sensitivity.

“Learn to hear from God. Many problems we have come from moving when heaven did not ask us to move. The day you begin to hear from God, that day your progress begins,” he said.

He further called for holiness, discipline, and self-control.

“Live a holy life. Never speak or think negatively about yourself. Be disciplined—control your temper, your speech, your emotions, and even your eating. Not everywhere you go you should eat,” he warned.

He urged believers to be hardworking and time-conscious.

“Work hard this year. Don’t be found among the lazy ones. Be time-conscious and form the habit of praising God,” he added.

Quoting Genesis 45:7, Olukoya said the year signifies God’s uncommon intervention.

“It is divine intervention that launches you into great breakthrough—an intervention that is permanent,” he declared.

He concluded by urging Christians to remain grounded in the Word of God.

“Be an addict of the Bible. Let the Word of God dwell richly in you. The poorest man is not the one without money but the one without vision,” he said.

The cleric charged believers to enter 2026 with faith, discipline, and unwavering commitment to righteousness, warning that spiritual procrastination would be dangerous in the year ahead.
