Birthday celebration in St. Vincent, Davido surprises mother-in-law

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has delivered a warming early birthday surprise to his mother-in-law during a luxury family vacation on Canouan Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

He shared the intimate moment on Instagram on Tuesday, posting a video that captured him cheerfully walking in with a birthday cake for his wife’s mother, who appeared visibly shocked and delighted by the gesture.

White Davido led the rendition of Happy Birthday, other family members — including his father and daughter, Hailey — joined in the celebration, turning the moment into a full-on family affair.

On his post, Davido wrote, “Early birthday surprise for Mama Chi. We love you mummy,” confirming the celebration came ahead of her actual birthday.

The heartwarming scene comes against the backdrop of the couple’s well-documented journey. Davido and Chioma’s relationship dates back to 2019 when the singer proposed, though it later faced turbulence in 2021 following cheating allegations.

The couple later had their lavish white wedding in Miami, US, in August 2025, following traditional rites in Lagos in June 2024 and a court wedding in 2023

The birth of the twins in October 2023 in the United States marked a deeply emotional chapter for the family, coming just a year after the death of their first son, Ifeanyi.

Recently, Davido also made headlines after declaring his commitment to a more settled life, stating, “I’m not cheating again.”
