The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has reassured of its commitment to driving digital transformation in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector through its continuous support for the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS).
This strategic partnership is planned to revolutionise teaching and learning across over 280 public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
At a meeting with Anthology Blackboard representatives, TETFund emphasised the critical role of the LMS in enhancing student engagement, faculty adoption, and the overall quality of education.
With over two million users benefiting from its features, the system has already proven its significant efficiency.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the introduction of Video Studio, a cutting-edge Blackboard feature that enables video-based instruction, interactive assignments, and seamless communication between lecturers and students.
Considering this innovation, learning becomes more inclusive, particularly for students in low-bandwidth regions.
Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono, assured of the agency’s commitment to ensure that institutions are fully equipped to leverage technology for teaching, learning, and performance monitoring.
On his part, the Country Director and Head of Business, West Africa, Pole Global Marketing (PGM), the implementing partner for Anthology Blackboard in Nigeria, Michael Ladipo, noted that the Blackboard LMS is a key component of this vision, and its adoption will accelerate the adoption of digital learning across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
