The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has presented a new toll-free short-code hotline, 3367, boosting emergency response, improve traffic management and promote accountability across Lagos State.

The agency said the platform replaces its former long-service code with a more accessible communication channel that allows residents to report traffic-related incidents free of charge.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA said the hotline is available to subscribers on MTN, 9mobile (Etisalat) and Glo networks.

According to the agency, road users can use the 3367 hotline to report vehicle breakdowns, road crashes, disabled articulated vehicles, stranded tankers, traffic obstructions and other emergencies requiring urgent intervention.

LASTMA added that the platform would also enable members of the public to report the conduct, professionalism and operational activities of its personnel, as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and service delivery.

The agency said callers can communicate with hotline operators in English, Yoruba or Pidgin English to encourage wider public participation and eliminate language barriers during emergencies.

LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the initiative as a major step towards improving road safety and deploying technology to enhance traffic management in the state.

According to him, the hotline reflects the agency’s commitment to providing a more responsive, technology-driven and citizen-centred traffic management system.

“The inauguration of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalising a safer, more efficient and highly responsive transportation ecosystem across Lagos State.

“It provides residents with a direct, convenient and cost-free channel through which incidents requiring immediate intervention can be promptly reported,” Bakare-Oki said.

He noted that the rapid growth and complexity of Lagos require a proactive and technology-enabled traffic management system capable of responding swiftly to emerging transportation challenges.

Bakare-Oki assured residents that reports received through the platform would be handled professionally, confidentially and diligently before being forwarded to the appropriate operational units for prompt action.

He urged the public to make use of the hotline to enhance road safety, improve accountability and support efforts to build a safer and more efficient transportation system across the state.
