Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has undergone a successful surgical procedure after picking up an injury while on international duty with Nigeria.
The 26-year-old forward was injured in the second leg of Nigeria’s second-round qualifying tie for the 2028 Olympic Games against Comoros on Tuesday.
Ajibade is now set to begin rehabilitation and is expected to be sidelined for a period, though no official recovery timeline has been announced. Her club, Paris Saint-Germain, also confirmed that she had surgery.
The Nigeria international announced the development on Instagram and thanked supporters for their messages and prayers.
“Surgery done. Recovery mode on. Thank you all for the love and prayers. Back soon for His greater glory,” Ajibade wrote.
No official details have yet been provided on how long the forward will be out or when she is expected to return to action.
