The Continental American Football League (CAFL) Africa has announced plans to introduce an American football league in 16 locations across Nigeria from March 2027, with Makurdi, the Benue State capital, selected as the starting point. Bola Tinubu President Bola Tinubu has instructed the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to work towards achieving 95 per cent National Identity Number (NIN) coverage by December 2026. Nairobi has been selected to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships, World Athletics confirmed at a council meeting in Budapest. It will be the first time an African city has hosted the event.
