The Debt Management Office has opened the July 2026 FGN Savings Bond subscription, offering Nigerians investment opportunities with returns of up to 15.716 per cent per annum. The latest offering marks the highest interest rate compared with previous issuances since the beginning of the year. Airtel Africa Plc reduced its diesel consumption by 9.1 million litres during its 2025/2026 financial year as the telecommunications company increased its use of lower-carbon energy sources and expanded efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. Diesel retail prices in Nigeria averaged between N1,409 and N1,450 per litre in December 2025, according to available market data. At those prices, the telecom operator’s reduction in diesel usage translates to an estimated value of about N12.8bn to N13.2bn. Federal government has made moves to reduce the risk of flooding through its Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy, following a review of the 2026 Annual Flood Outlook. The director-general of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs Zubaida Umar Abubakar, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja during a two-day technical workshop on the Riverine Household Flood Protection Pilot Exercise.
