Jumia Nigeria has said it is strengthening efforts to broaden access to digital commerce, as it marked its 14th anniversary with new initiatives aimed at expanding participation across different income groups in the country’s e-commerce sector.

The firm has also unveiled “14 Years with You” as its official theme for its 14th anniversary celebration, with the tagline “Jolly after Jolly,” marking a milestone in the company’s efforts to expand e-commerce access and deepen its impact on everyday Nigerians.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lagos ahead of the June 1 start date, Chief Executive Officer Temidayo Ojo said the campaign reflects the company’s commitment to delivering value, affordability, and improved customer experience across its platform.

According to him, Jumia’s next phase of growth will focus on inclusion by ensuring digital commerce serves not only high-income consumers but also middle-income earners, small business owners, and low-income Nigerians seeking convenience and economic opportunities.

“‘14 Years with You’ reflects our belief that every Nigerian deserves access to the benefits of e-commerce, regardless of income level or location. The idea behind ‘Jolly after Jolly’ is that customers should continue to experience value, convenience, and excitement every time they engage with Jumia,” Ojo said.

He added, “Fourteen years ago, e-commerce in Nigeria was still a bold experiment. Today, it has become part of everyday life for millions of people. But the future of commerce must be more inclusive.

“We are building a platform that works not only for the wealthy but also for the middle class and the ambitious everyday Nigerian. At the same time, we are excited about the opportunities around intra-African trade and how technology can help connect businesses and consumers across the continent.”

A key highlight of the anniversary campaign is a lineup of customer-focused initiatives designed to deliver discounts and engagement across the platform. Shoppers will experience promotions such as Explosion Days deals, Flash Sales, Brand Days, and Hourly Voucher Drops across categories, including electronics, fashion, home essentials, and daily-use goods.

The campaign will also feature interactive and reward-based activities such as Treasure Hunt, Memory Match games, and live giveaway sessions, offering customers opportunities to unlock discounts, vouchers, and rewards throughout the period.

These initiatives are designed to improve affordability, enhance customer engagement, and increase access to discounted products for both new and returning users. This year’s edition is powered by Nivea, alongside partner brands including Ecoflow, Skyrun, Aeon, Silver Crest, Oraimo, Infinix, and Xiaomi.

Over the past 14 years, Jumia has played a major role in shaping Nigeria’s e-commerce ecosystem by connecting millions of consumers with thousands of local and international sellers while contributing to logistics, payments, and digital retail infrastructure development.

The company also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting small and medium-sized businesses through wider market access, technology tools, and improved visibility within the digital economy.

Beyond Nigeria, Jumia is positioning itself as a facilitator of intra-African trade, leveraging its logistics and technology capabilities to support cross-border commerce in line with the African Continental Free Trade Area framework.

Ojo noted that Africa’s youthful population, rising internet penetration, and growing entrepreneurial base present significant opportunities for digital marketplaces.

“As African economies become more interconnected, platforms like Jumia have a responsibility to help local businesses scale beyond borders. The future of commerce in Africa will depend heavily on digital infrastructure, accessibility, trust, and seamless trade,” he said.

To mark the anniversary, Jumia will roll out promotional campaigns throughout June, including customer rewards, merchant-focused initiatives, and brand collaborations.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, affordability, and long-term investment in Nigeria’s digital economy and broader African market growth.
