UBA Wins Award, Keeps Setting Benchmarks In MSME Financing Across Nigeria – 2025 Development Bank.

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has won major plaques at the 2025 Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) Service Ambassador Awards.

The bank recently reaffirmed its leadership position in fostering economic growth and empowerment by beating formidable competition to clinch the awards.

The prestigious award recognizes financial institutions driving impactful support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria, and UBA emerged victorious in these categories: Deposit Money Bank (DMB) with the Highest Impact on MSMEs in Nigeria; DMB with the Highest Impact on Women MSMEs; Participating Financial Institution (PFI) with the Highest Impact in the North-Central Zone; and the Prestigious Platinum Service Ambassador Award, the biggest of the night.

The latest recognition highlighted UBA’s relentless commitment to empowering businesses, aiding financial inclusion, and supporting female entrepreneurs and underserved communities across the nation.

The company’s Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Muyiwa Akinyemi, who received the Platinum Service Ambassador Award on behalf of the bank, revealed that UBA is very honoured to be recognised for its good work in the banking industry.

According to him, the prestigious plaques are proof of the bank’s strategic focus on offering accessible financing, capacity building, and innovative solutions that will aid small businesses to thrive.

He reiterated the United Bank for Africa’s readiness to keep committing to fostering economic resilience and prosperity across the nation.

“We are deeply honoured to be recognised by the Development Bank of Nigeria for our efforts in driving sustainable growth and empowerment for MSMEs, particularly women-led businesses and enterprises in the North-Central region. Managing Director/CEO of the Development Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Tony Okpanachi, also hailed UBA’s outstanding contributions, appreciating the bank’s consistency in alleviating financing challenges faced by MSMEs in Nigeria.
