Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has officially unveiled the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new initiative aimed at discovering, training and mentoring emerging African talents while connecting them to global opportunities in the music industry.
The announcement was made as part of the singer’s broader commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists across the continent. According to the award-winning performer, the foundation will identify and support 100 promising African talents, offering them professional mentorship, training resources and international exposure designed to accelerate their careers.
Savage described the initiative as a personal mission to give back to an industry that shaped her career. “Africa is full of incredible talents who just need the right opportunities and guidance to shine on the global stage,” she said. “With the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, we want to discover these voices, nurture them and help them reach audiences far beyond their communities.”
The program will focus on a wide range of music-related skills, including vocal development, songwriting, music production, branding and stage performance. Participants will also receive mentorship from experienced industry professionals, as well as opportunities to collaborate with established artists and producers.
Savage said the foundation aims to bridge the gap between raw talent and professional success by creating structured pathways for young artists. “I know firsthand how challenging it can be to break into this industry,” she said. “This foundation is about opening doors and making sure talented young Africans are seen and heard.”
Industry observers say the initiative could further strengthen the global influence of African music, particularly the Afrobeats genre that has gained significant international recognition in recent years. By investing in emerging artists, the foundation is expected to contribute to the continued expansion of Africa’s music ecosystem.
Further details on the application process and selection of participants are expected to be announced by the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation in the coming months, as preparations begin to identify the first cohort of young talents across the continent.
