The Miss Nigeria Organization has announced a new direction for the 2026 edition of the prestigious pageant, shifting its focus from traditional pageantry toward initiatives centered on impact, leadership and social purpose. As part of the new roadmap, the organization revealed plans to host the Beauty and Fashion Fair scheduled to take place from March 22 to March 23 at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
Officials said the event is designed to bring together stakeholders across the beauty, fashion and creative industries while highlighting the evolving role of the Miss Nigeria platform in empowering women and supporting meaningful social initiatives. The fair is expected to feature exhibitions, panel discussions, networking sessions and showcases from designers, beauty brands and entrepreneurs within Nigeria’s growing creative sector.
According to organizers, the shift reflects a broader effort to reposition the pageant as a platform that prioritizes purpose-driven leadership among contestants and winners. A representative of the organization said the new direction aligns with global conversations about the role of beauty platforms in promoting social change. “Miss Nigeria is evolving beyond the traditional concept of pageantry. Our focus now is on impact, purpose and empowering women who can use their voices and platforms to create meaningful change,” the representative said.
The Beauty and Fashion Fair is also expected to provide opportunities for emerging designers and beauty entrepreneurs to connect with investors, media professionals and industry leaders. Organizers noted that the event will serve as a hub for collaboration across Nigeria’s fashion and beauty ecosystem while highlighting innovation within the sector.
“This fair is not just about glamour,” the spokesperson added. “It is about celebrating creativity, supporting businesses in the beauty and fashion industries, and creating a space where ideas, opportunities and partnerships can thrive.”
Industry observers say the initiative reflects the continued expansion of Nigeria’s fashion and beauty industries, which have gained increasing recognition across Africa and internationally. By hosting the event in Lagos, widely regarded as the country’s commercial and creative hub, the organization aims to position the platform as a key contributor to the development of the creative economy.
The Beauty and Fashion Fair at Eko Hotel & Suites is expected to draw participants from across Nigeria’s fashion, beauty and entertainment industries, with further details on speakers, exhibitors and program activities to be announced by the Miss Nigeria Organization in the coming weeks.
