JAMB announces new book for 2025 UTME Use of English, drops hint on registration
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled ‘The Lekki Headmaster’ by Kabir Alabi Garba as the recommended reading text for the Use of English in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a tweet on X, JAMB urged prospective candidates to stay alert for updates on the forthcoming registration process for both the UTME and Direct Entry (DE) exercises.
While registration has not yet commenced, the Board emphasised the importance of early preparation, including securing a National Identification Number (NIN) and a phone number that has not been previously used for JAMB registration.
“Candidates are advised to ensure that the phone number used belongs to a close relative, such as a parent or guardian, particularly for those under 18 years of age. This measure aims to simplify the retrieval process in case of SIM card loss or damage,” it said.
JAMB also reiterated the importance of safeguarding the unique identification card issued during registration.
The Board stressed that the card must not be lost, as it cannot be replaced, saying that in the event of loss, candidates should take immediate steps to retrieve it.
The Board encouraged all candidates to remain patient as further details regarding the registration process would be announced in due course.
