Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has inaugurated the Iworo–Ogbogbo–Igbeba Road, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to expanding rural-urban connectivity and improving transportation infrastructure across the state.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the governor said the completion of the road project was part of deliberate efforts by his administration to open up rural communities, stimulate economic activities, and enhance the movement of goods and people within the state.
Abiodun noted that improved road infrastructure remained critical to economic growth, particularly in linking agrarian communities with urban centres and major markets. He stated that the newly inaugurated road would ease transportation challenges previously faced by residents and business operators in the affected communities.
“Our administration remains committed to ensuring that no community is left behind in terms of development. This road is a clear demonstration of our resolve to provide rural-urban linkage that will support commerce, agriculture, and overall socio-economic development,” the governor said.
He added that the government would continue to prioritise strategic road construction and rehabilitation projects across Ogun State to promote inclusive growth and attract investment.
According to him, several similar projects are ongoing in different parts of the state, stressing that the focus of his administration is to ensure balanced development between urban and rural areas.
“We will continue to embark on projects that directly impact the lives of our people. Rural-urban linkage roads are essential to our development agenda, and more of such projects will be delivered across the state,” Abiodun said.
Residents and community leaders at the event expressed appreciation to the state government for completing the project, noting that the road would significantly reduce travel time, improve access to neighbouring communities, and support local economic activities.
The inauguration forms part of ongoing infrastructure initiatives by the Ogun State Government aimed at strengthening transportation networks and improving living standards across communities in the state.
