* Yakasai’s first convocation starts Wednesday, 7th.
After eight years of suspense, Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano, has unveiled plans for its 5th combined convocation ceremony.
The university is set to graduate 15,000 undergraduate and 3,000 postgraduate students at the main campus, Wudil.
At a pre-convocation media chat on Tuesday, Vice Chancellor, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai disclosed first convocation since he assumed the authority of the institution kicks off Wednesday, 7th through Saturday, 10th May, 2025.
According to Professor Yakasai, the week-long event also features the investiture of Africa’s richest man, and President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, as Chancellor of the University.
Also slated for a doctorate degree honorary consul, are business mogul and billionaire Chief Arthur Eze, founder of Max Air, and multi-billionaire, Dahiru Barau Mangal, legal luminary and Senior Advocate Ahmad Adeniyi Raji, and oil magnate and founder of Ammasco Oil, Al-Mustapha Ado.
According to the VC, the university has made significant strides and innovations in its academic journey to greater heights, accreditation of programs, and a mathematical digital model designed by a product of the university, Mahmoud Mubarak, for the measurement of deforestation density.
Yakasai added that the university has also secured foreign grants for the National Programme on Irrigation Suitability with the use of solar power.
