Dignitaries: Governors Bago, Yusuf Join Kwankwaso, Duke, Ikpeba, Rufai to Mark Bishop Idahosa’s 60th Birthday

The birthday of the Bishop on Saturday February 8 was a symphony of cheer, admiration and eulogy as Nigeria’s political heavyweight, spiritual luminaries, and cultural icons converged to honor Archbishop Designate Isaac Idahosa, as he marks 60 years of Impactful life to humanity.

The Sheraton Hotel’s Banquet Hall in Ikeja transformed into a kaleidoscope of Nigeria’s elite, where the boundaries between pulpit and parliament blurred in celebration of a man whose legacy spans faith, governance, and societal uplift.

From the gleaming attire of governors to the spirited anecdotes of retired football legends, the evening radiated not just opulence, but a rare camaraderie forged by Idahosa’s unparalleled ability to bridge divides. Here, in a room where policy met prayer and ambition met altruism, the archbishop’s 60th birthday became less a personal milestone and more a mirror reflecting his nation’s collective aspirations.

Among the distinguished guests were Senator Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP); Governors Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State and Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State; former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke; former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu; Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House; and ex-Super Eagles stars Victor Ikpeba and Julius Aghahowa. The event was a testament to Bishop Idahosa’s far-reaching influence across politics, religion, business, and sports.

During his goodwill message, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso expressed his pride in associating with Bishop Idahosa, stating, “I am truly proud to be associated with Bishop Isaac Idahosa, a man of great vision and integrity. Providence brought us together, and I believe it was for a purpose. His dedication to faith and nation-building is inspiring, and I am honored to celebrate this milestone with him.”

The evening was a vibrant celebration of Bishop Idahosa’s life and legacy, with the hall adorned in dazzling decorations that set the tone for a festive atmosphere. Resplendent in a black tuxedo accented with silver linen, the General Overseer of Illumination Assembly and 2023 NNPP Vice Presidential candidate exuded elegance and joy as he mingled with guests from his family, the Christian community, politics, and the social elite.

The event also featured the presentation of special recognition awards by the Bishop Isaac Idahosa Foundation to individuals who have excelled in their respective fields. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State received the Excellence in Infrastructural Development Award for his innovative urban and rural development initiatives. Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso was honored with the Lifetime Political Leadership Excellence Award for his contributions to nation-building. Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State was recognized with the Agricultural Transformation & Rural Development Award for his groundbreaking agricultural programs. Prof. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu was celebrated with the Excellence in Public Service & Policy Reform Award for his transparency in governance, while Donald Duke was awarded the Tourism Development & Economic Innovation Award for transforming Cross River State into a tourism hub.

The celebration was a fitting tribute to Bishop Idahosa’s impactful life and ministry, as well as a gathering of Nigeria’s finest minds and achievers.
