A lecturer of Postcolonial Literature, Department of English, Languages and Cultures at the Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Dr Ademola Adesola, has received a faculty award.
Adesola received the Faculty of Arts Outstanding Scholar Award for the 2024-2025 academic year for his productivity at the university.
The Nigerian-Canadian lecturer received the award at the faculty’s council assembly last week.
About the award, Adesola said he had only spent three years at MRU, but was honoured for his contributions.
“Well, I find it to be inspiring and challenging. It’s a recognition of my scholarly undertakings, and in the way that I understand it,” he said.
He added, “It looks at one’s scholarly activities within the last five years. But I’ve just been at MRU for three years. I find it quite a positive and heartening recognition, as well as an inspiration and a call to rededicate myself.”
