Isote Ward 12 Endorses Gbenga Daniel’s Membership, Refers Him As APC’s “Prized Jewel”

The leadership of Isote Ward 12, Sagamu Local Government Area, has rallied behind Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, describing him as a “prized jewel” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and confirming his membership in the party amid recent controversies.
Speaking during the ward’s monthly meeting held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Ward Chairman, Olusegun Olusiji, dismissed speculation questioning the senator’s standing within the APC, stating that the endorsement from the grassroots leadership puts all doubts to rest.
“We are immensely proud of the quality of representation that His Excellency, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has provided for Ogun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly,” Olusiji declared to party members in attendance. “His legislative achievements, constituent engagement, and dedication to the development of our senatorial district have been exemplary and worthy of commendation.”
The Ward 12 chairman emphasized that the party’s grassroots structure remains solidly behind the former Ogun State governor, noting that his contributions to the APC and the people of Ogun East have been invaluable since joining the party.
“As the leadership of Ward 12, we gladly endorse Senator Gbenga Daniel for a return to the Senate in 2027. This endorsement is not just a vote of confidence but a reflection of the overwhelming satisfaction of our constituents with his performance,” Olusiji stated during the well-attended meeting.
Addressing recent speculation about the senator’s party membership, the APC chieftain was unequivocal: “Our endorsement today puts paid to the words of naysayers questioning the membership of Distinguished Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel in the All Progressives Congress. He is not just a member; he is our prized jewel, a beacon of progressive leadership and democratic values.”
Olusiji further noted that Senator Daniel’s wealth of experience, spanning decades in public service including his tenure as governor of Ogun State, has been instrumental in attracting federal attention and development projects to Ogun East.
“From infrastructure development to youth empowerment programs, from educational interventions to healthcare initiatives, Senator Daniel has demonstrated that effective representation goes beyond rhetoric. He has walked the talk, and our people have seen tangible results,” the ward chairman added.
The Ward 12 leadership also called on party members across Ogun East to remain united and focused on supporting the senator’s legislative agenda, urging them to disregard what they termed “distractions from opposition elements seeking to create division within our ranks.”
The meeting, which drew party faithful from across the ward, was marked by expressions of solidarity with the senator, with several members commending his accessibility and responsiveness to constituent needs.
Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019, has served as the representative of Ogun East Senatorial District since 2023. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) and a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering (FAEng), bringing technical expertise to his legislative duties.
The early endorsement from Ward 12 is seen as a significant boost to the senator’s political standing as the 2027 general elections approach, signalling strong grassroots support in his home base of Sagamu.
