Nigerian military forces have recorded a series of operational successes across multiple states, intensifying pressure on insurgent and criminal elements in ongoing security operations. According to official sources, troops deployed in the North-East and North-West theatres neutralized several suspected terrorists during coordinated offensives carried out within the last 24 hours.
In Borno State, ground forces supported by intelligence surveillance engaged insurgent positions in identified enclaves, leading to the elimination of a number of fighters and the disruption of their logistical networks. Military authorities indicated that the operation forms part of sustained clearance efforts aimed at dismantling remnants of terrorist cells operating within the region.
Similarly, in Zamfara State, troops conducting offensive patrols encountered armed groups believed to be involved in banditry activities. A gun battle ensued, resulting in the neutralization of several suspects, while others reportedly fled with injuries into surrounding forest areas. Security personnel are said to be maintaining pursuit operations to prevent regrouping.
In a separate development in Kwara State, security operatives successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt in Patigi Local Government Area. Acting on timely intelligence, troops intercepted the suspected kidnappers before they could relocate their victim, leading to a rescue operation that secured the safe release of the individual. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, and authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover wider networks linked to the incident.
Military officials reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining aggressive operations across all theatres, emphasizing the importance of intelligence-sharing and community cooperation in achieving lasting security. Residents in affected areas have also been urged to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to security agencies.
