Inter Miami CF are reportedly scheduled to visit the White House on March 5 following their victory in the 2025 MLS Cup. The ceremony is expected to take place two days before the club’s Major League Soccer fixture against D.C. United in Washington, D.C.
Miami secured their first league title in December after defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Audi MLS Cup Final. The visit follows the longstanding American tradition of championship-winning teams being invited to the White House. The most recent MLS side to attend such a ceremony was Columbus Crew in 2024.
The occasion would mark Messi’s first official appearance at the White House if he attends. The Argentine forward had previously been invited to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from then-President Joe Biden in January 2025 but was unable to attend due to prior commitments.
The visit will take place under the administration of Donald Trump, who returned to office after winning the 2024 presidential election. Trump has made several public appearances at soccer-related events since resuming office, including attending the Club World Cup final and participating in activities connected to the 2026 World Cup draw.
Inter Miami’s visit comes amid discussion surrounding recent White House appearances by other championship teams. On the field, the club recently opened their MLS campaign with a 3-0 defeat to LAFC and are scheduled to face Orlando City before traveling to Washington.
