Nigerian Bello Sisqo making waves in Afrobeat songs in Germany

Bello Sheriff, award-winning singer, who is fondly referred to as Bello Sisqo, has been making headlines in German where he aligns with millions of fans worldwide.

Bello Sisqo, who is spreading the gospel of Afrobeats in Europe, is arguably one of the fastest-rising Nigerian artistes in the world.

Though his songs are Naija-flavoured, smeared with Pidgin English and Hausa, he syncs seamlessly with lovers of artistic creativity and good rhythmic sound anywhere on the planet.

Born in Borno State, he grew up in Kano where he obtained formal education before venturing into music, Bello Sisqo is gifted, which he demonstrates in his music videos.

The choreography and quality in his official music videos are top-class. In Germany, his genre of music is often labeled as “Nigerian street music”—emphasizing deep attachment to his fan base back home in Nigeria, in the South and Northern parts of the country.

Bello Sisqo, who also models, makes a lot of money from streaming platforms, with his songs on high demand on Boom play, Apple music, Audiomack and Spotify, His videos have tremendous views on YouTube, as he puts his ingenuity on full display.

Bello Sisqo’s time in the entertainment industry is neither a happenstance nor a misadventure.

He has released a number of hit tracks, accompanied with videos on popular demand. In 2020, he released official video for “Aisha”, featuring Chizo_1_Germany.

In 2021, he dropped the official video for “Fati – Wakar Da Akayi A Turai”, in which he featured Hamish Breaker.

Aware of what his fans love, the music composer released the video of “Your Body Bam Bam” in November 2021, in which he featured Singah, as well as visuals for “Kyakkyawa”, featuring Chiara Damico. In September 2022, he released the much-anticipated visuals for “Were you dey”, featuring Jizzle, before which he had dropped that of “Banza Ne”.

In March 2023, Bello Sisqo performed live at PSquare’s concert in Munich, Germany a place that has become home away from home for him, and a prosperous ground.

His talent is hugely recognized home and abroad. He has won Best Artiste in Northern Nigeria Award, “Best Music Video of the Year Award” in 2021, and “Best EU Artiste Award”, among many other international and local awards.

Speaking on how he started as an entertainer, Bello Sisqo said he was a dancer at a very young age, before becoming a dance instructor in Kannywood, in movies produced by likes popular actor, Ali Nuhu.

“Entertainment is something that is inherent in me. At a very tender age, I was a dancer and started teaching dancing at the Farida Cinema at Rijiyar Lemu in Kano. I later became a dancing tutor in Kannywood. I taught dance steps for most of Ali Nuhu and Adam Zango’s films. With time I developed the skill to sing, so I decided to give it a try. I began recording my songs at Auwal DJ Studio and within a short period I started shooting my song’s videos and in no time the name Bello Sisqo went viral.

“I later met a famous Nigerian singer, Chizo Germany, and a social media influencer, Bobo, who are from Northern Nigeria. We collaborated for song called “Fada Da Gaskiya”. It was the song that shot me to limelight and with support from Chizo Germany I travelled to Germany where I continued with my entertainment pursuit,” Bello Sisqo said.
