Olori Atuwatse III To Empower 1000 Girls in ‘Set4Lyf’ Programme

Olori Atuwatse III To Empower 1000 Girls in ‘Set4Lyf’ Programme.

To help female students navigate life beyond secondary education, Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of Warri Kingdom has  initiated an empowerment program tagged ‘Set4Lyf’ -a six-month intensive training program for girls in Warri, Delta State.

The programme, an initiative of Olori Atuwatse III through her foundation, Royal Iwẹrẹ Foundation, in collaboration with Junior Achievement Nigeria, was flagged off on Monday, February 17, at the Palace of the Olu of Warri.

The Set4Lyf Project targets over 1000 female students in SS1 and SS2, aged 14 to 16, providing them with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their future careers and contribute meaningfully to society.

L-R Oge Ezebiorah, COO Royal Iwere Foundation, Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enette, SA to Governor of Delta State on SDGs, Ayisat Olabimpe Agbaje, Executive Secretary, Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of Warri Kingdom, Simi Nwogugu, President/CEO JA Africa, Ugonna Achebe, ED JAN

Olori Atuwatse III, emphasised the importance of preparing young girls for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

“We are making it possible for girls to be set for life, regardless of their background or family circumstances. This initiative goes beyond preparing them for the workforce; we are equipping them to drive economic growth and transform communities,” said Olori Atuwatse III.

“We will not wait for our girls to become women before nurturing their potential.”

Simi Nwogugu, President of Junior Achievement Africa, at the launch, urged young girls to seize the opportunity to dream big and realise their potential.

“The programme is here to give you the wings to fly,” she said, encouraging the students to break free from self-imposed limitations. “It is really up to you—what you do with this opportunity will determine whether or not you reach your highest potential.”

Nwogugu emphasised the importance of action and self-application. “You can be presented with all the opportunities in the world, but without the drive to apply yourself, you won’t soar to your full capacity.”

She challenged the students to become “disruptors” and leverage modern technology to make a positive impact.

Other keynote speakers include Ms Orode Uduaghan, Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Girl Child Development, Ugonna Achebe, ED Junior Achievement Nigeria, Diana Eyo-Enoette, SA to the Governor on SDGs.

The programme will also offer a training of trainers and volunteers, equipping them with leadership and problem-solving skills to better support the next generation of female leaders.
