Captain Hosa: Gone Too Soon But Legacy Remains!

Captain Hosa by Douglas Ogbankwa.@douglasogbankwa@gmail.com
Captain Hosa,
I just have a poser:
Why did you leave so soon?
When your generosity is in great boom?
Splitters of kindness,
Depicts your unmistakable goodness;
Why did you go?
Leaving us in sorrow?
Captain Hosa,
You are not just unforgettable,
You are irreplaceable;
Your character is seen only among angels;
Oh! You have gone to be with the angels;
I know you are in heaven,
On earth here you created for your kith and kin heaven;
You were a man with a large heart,
That think not for any one bad,
Still you lived a Spartan life,
Making people happy was your major like,
You lived so that others may live;
You had so that others you will give;
You gave for no reason,
You gave in all seasons,
Hallmark of a true giver,
You were like a river,
Flowing with the milk of human kindness,
This has reduced our sadness,
Your death may have caused for many emotional instability;
But you have by your works achieved immortality.
Captain Hosa,
Your virtues were top notch,
For all you did that were posh,
For the lives you touched so much,
This eulogy is just a tip of the iceberg,
For one of Edo’s Best,
A man who had a good dress sense,
Yet still reticent.
Captain Hosa,
You gave jobs and businesses to many;
Many from lack to surplus you ferried,
Wish life will ever have a reversal,
So you reckon the betrayals,
But one thing is very certain,
Edos will miss you dearly,
Because Captain Hosa,
From Ekenwan to Urokhosa,
There can never be another you;
Heaven sure has an occupant that is brand new,
And that person can only be you !
NB: After reading this poem, please ask yourself this question: When I die, what will I be remembered for?
