For Dr. Ifetayo Adeniyi, success is not measured by the titles he holds as CEO of Megastar Media Communications or President of the Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON), but by the impact he leaves on the ground where his journey began. In a moving homecoming, Dr. Adeniyi returned to Sagamu High School in Ogun State to lay the foundation for a solar-powered toilet facility—a gesture of profound gratitude toward the institution that shaped his formative years.

This project is more than a matter of bricks and mortar; it is a testament to the humanitarian spirit of “giving back.” While many move on from their roots, Dr. Adeniyi has chosen to look back, recognizing that the current generation of students deserves the same foundation of dignity he was afforded. By addressing the critical yet often overlooked issue of school sanitation, he is ensuring that no student’s education is hindered by a lack of basic human needs. At the ceremony, Dr. Adeniyi shared that the initiative was fueled by a desire to honor his past, stressing that “access to clean and functional sanitation facilities is critical to students’ wellbeing and academic performance.”
The presence of the Ewusi of Makun, His Majesty Oba Timothy Akinsola, underscored the communal weight of this act. The royal blessings bestowed upon the site served as a reminder that when successful individuals remember their origins, the entire community is elevated. School authorities noted that such interventions are rare but vital, as they transform the learning environment into a space where students feel valued and cared for.
By choosing a solar-powered design, Dr. Adeniyi is also gifting the school a sustainable future, ensuring the facility remains functional without the burden of high maintenance costs. This second major CSR intervention by Adeniyi—following a similar project in Abuja—serves as a powerful call to action for alumni everywhere. It proves that the most meaningful way to celebrate one’s success is to pave a smoother path for those following in one’s footsteps, ensuring the cycle of growth and support remains unbroken for the youth of Sagamu.
