The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) has finalized a landmark agreement with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to reinstate tourism information desks at all major international airports. The move, confirmed today, Thursday, January 29, 2026, aims to bridge a long-standing communication gap for inbound travelers and marks a significant step in the government’s push for “global repositioning” through tourism.
FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, noted during the rollout that aviation and tourism are “naturally interconnected,” emphasizing that the desks will serve as the first point of contact for showcasing Nigeria’s heritage to the world. This development follows a strategic meeting between the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, and the NTDA Director-General, Olayiwola Awakan, where the Minister reaffirmed that “inbound tourism must be intentionally positioned as a bridge that connects people, communities, and cultures across the country.”
