Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly appealed to Nigerians to stop attacking her mother, Rita Daniels, as tensions continue in her troubled marriage to Ned Nwoko.
In an emotional Instagram video, Regina stressed that her decision to marry was not driven by money, revealing that her family had actually opposed the union from the beginning.
“The main essence of this video is to please, stop insulting my mom… She’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” she said, passionately defending her mother’s role in her life.
She admitted going against strong warnings from loved ones, saying:
“I’m the one with the coconut head. I’m so ashamed to say I fell in love. But I actually really did… Everyone said no. My mom… Everybody warned me.”
Regina also dismissed claims that her marriage was based on financial gain:
“And you all stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me. No. We were not broke.”
Speaking further, she described the intense emotional pressure she faced at the time, revealing:
“I drove out at night. I was going to kill myself if I didn’t marry Ned… My family does not want me to marry the love of my life.”
Despite the ongoing conflict, she maintained that her actions were rooted in genuine feelings:
“But I actually did fall in love… And I still care and respect him. That’s love.”
Addressing the current situation, Regina made it clear she is focused on her children and ready to stand her ground:
“I’m going to fight for my children… I’ll take them. I’ll train them. I’ll raise them, with or without your support.”
Her remarks come after their marital crisis became public, with allegations and counterclaims from both sides.
