The Nigerian Army has laid to rest Oseni Braimah and several soldiers who were killed during recent insurgent attacks in Borno State, marking a solemn moment for the nation’s armed forces.
The burial ceremony was attended by top military officials, government representatives, and grieving families, with tributes pouring in to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the fallen personnel. Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining operations against insurgents in the North-East, vowing that the deaths of the officers and soldiers would not be in vain.
In a related development, the Zamfara Community Protection Guards recorded a major security breakthrough after intercepting a commercial driver allegedly transporting 98 explosive devices and ₦13 million in cash intended for a bandits’ camp.
The suspect was apprehended during a routine security check, with preliminary investigations suggesting links to armed groups operating within the region. Authorities say the interception has likely prevented a significant attack and disrupted the logistics network of bandits.
Security agencies have since intensified surveillance and intelligence efforts across affected areas, emphasizing the need for community collaboration in identifying and reporting suspicious movements.
These developments highlight both the ongoing security challenges in parts of northern Nigeria and the continued efforts by military and local security outfits to counter insurgency and banditry.
