Keystone Bank management, CIBN officials and the 62 graduate trainees of the Keystone Bank Banking School at the graduation and induction ceremony held in Lagos recently.

Keystone Bank Limited has graduated and inducted 62 young professionals from the 29th Stream of its Banking School Programme into its workforce, following their successful completion of the bank’s flagship capacity-building initiative.

The latest cohort of 62 trainees, comprising 34 females and 28 males, successfully completed a four-month intensive training programme at the Keystone Bank Banking School, gaining the technical knowledge, professional competencies and practical experience needed to build successful careers in financial services.

The cohort achieved the best overall academic performance in the history of the Keystone Bank Banking School, reflecting the calibre of talent attracted to the programme and the quality of learning and development delivered .

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the managing director & chief executive officer of Keystone Bank, Hassan Imam, said the successful graduation of the trainees represented more than the completion of a training programme, describing the young professionals as an important part of the bank’s future.

Imam said the Bank was investing deliberately in its people, noting that its long-term growth and transformation depend on the quality, competence and character of its workforce.

According to him “Today is particularly significant for us because we are not simply graduating 62 trainees; we are welcoming 62 young professionals into the next chapter of their careers and, importantly, into the future of Keystone Bank.

“Keystone Bank has made significant progress across customer acquisition, deposit growth, profitability, digital innovation and industry recognition, and we are building on these achievements with even greater ambition.

“I expect these young professionals to see themselves as builders of an institution. As banking evolves, we need people who combine innovation with sound judgement, ambition with discipline, and, above all, integrity.”

“Your graduation is a beginning, not an end. Continue to learn, challenge yourselves and uphold your integrity. Skills may open doors, but character determines how far you go.”

President and chairman of Council of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Dele Alabi, commended Keystone Bank for its sustained investment in the development of young banking professionals, noting that initiatives such as the Banking School were essential to building the next generation of industry leaders.

Alabi said the banking profession required professionals who possessed both technical competence and strong ethical foundations, urging the graduands to make integrity the cornerstone of their careers.

Also speaking, head, Learning Academy, Keystone Bank, Abimbola Alabi, described the Banking School experience as both rewarding and transformative, expressing satisfaction with the remarkable growth recorded by the trainees during the programme.

When Criminals Change The SIM, What Happens To The Trail?
Alabi said the programme was deliberately designed to develop not only competent entry-level bankers but future leaders capable of rising through the ranks of the financial services industry.

“What we have witnessed is the transformation of young graduates into professionals who are better equipped to understand the realities of the banking industry. We have seen them grow in confidence, knowledge, teamwork and leadership.

“Our expectation is that some of the people graduating today will become senior executives, managing directors and even chairpersons of financial institutions in the years ahead. We are planting seeds today for the leadership of tomorrow.”

The 29th Stream trainees participated in branch attachment sessions, sporting activities, social engagements, community service initiatives and a prison visit, among other activities. The activities were designed to promote teamwork, leadership, collaboration, social responsibility and personal development.

The graduands expressed appreciation to Keystone Bank for providing them with an opportunity to launch their professional careers within a structured and supportive learning environment.

The Keystone Bank Banking School is one of the lender’s flagship talent-development initiatives and is structured around the curriculum of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), exposing participants to critical areas of banking, including operations, financial analysis, risk management, regulatory compliance, customer service and other key aspects of modern banking.

Keystone Bank Limited is a technology and service-driven commercial bank focused on delivering innovative financial solutions to individuals, businesses and institutions.
