The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has entered into a new strategic partnership with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing aimed at expanding technical apprenticeship opportunities and auto-engineering training for young Nigerians.
The initiative is designed to equip youths with practical vocational skills in automobile manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and industrial technology as part of broader efforts to tackle unemployment and strengthen local capacity development in Nigeria’s growing automotive sector.
Officials said the programme will provide structured hands-on training, mentorship opportunities, and industry exposure for participants, with a focus on preparing young people for careers in technical and manufacturing fields. The partnership is also expected to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation by encouraging more youths to acquire specialised engineering and production skills.
According to the Ministry, the collaboration aligns with the Federal Government’s push to promote youth empowerment through technical education, industrial training, and private-sector partnerships capable of creating sustainable employment opportunities.
Representatives of Innoson said the company remains committed to developing indigenous talent and supporting Nigeria’s industrialisation drive by investing in local human capital and advanced technical training programmes.
Stakeholders believe the initiative could help bridge the skills gap in Nigeria’s automotive and manufacturing industries while encouraging greater youth participation in technology-driven sectors of the economy.
