The organizers of the GRAMMYs have revealed the event timeline leading up to the 2025 Grammy Awards, which will be held at the Arena in Los Angeles.
Report had it that the 2025 Grammy Awards season is already underway, with a key event scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2024.
This year, the Recording Academy has made several important changes to award categories to “enhance the integrity and inclusivity of the GRAMMYs,” reflecting the industry’s evolving standards. These updates aim to celebrate a broader range of musical genres.
The live broadcast on live.GRAMMY.com will unveil the nominees vying for music’s highest honors. Full details of the updated categories are available on the Academy’s website.
Among the changes is the introduction of the “Best Dance Pop Recording” category, replacing the former Best Pop Dance Recording, and a reorganization of the Best Remixed Recording category within the Pop & Dance/Electronic Field. These modifications underscore the Academy’s commitment to adapting to the changing music landscape and empowering creators, as noted by Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr.
Mason, in a message to Voting Members, reminded them of the GRAMMY’s 67-year tradition, emphasizing that “every vote shapes the future of music.” The nominations today are just the beginning, with the grand event, the 67th GRAMMY Awards, scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, to be streamed live.

Additionally, the Academy has revised eligibility and submission rules, including for the Songwriter of the Year category, which now allows songwriters to qualify with a reduced number of songs, helping to “welcome more voices” into the competition.

July 8, 2024 – Aug. 23, 2024: Media Company Registration Period
Media companies must register with the Recording Academy to submit recordings.
July 17, 2024 – Aug. 30, 2024: Online Entry Period
Eligible recordings must be submitted during this period.
Oct. 4, 2024 – Oct. 15, 2024: First Round Voting
Voting Members select the nominees for each GRAMMY category.
Nov. 8, 2024: Nomination Announcement

Dec. 12, 2024 – Jan. 3, 2025: Final Round Voting
