Nigeria creative industry is full of bundles of talents both established and rising. For the fast rising one an opportuny presented itself for a rise to stardom through the Prince Ned Nwoko Antarctica Experience Challange, initiated by the Billionaire Philanthropist and Antarctica Explorer Prince Ned Nwoko.
Recall that in January 2020 Prince Ned Nwoko went on a symbolic expedition to the extremely cold Antarctica to create an Awareness for Malaria Eradication in Nigeria and Africa. He made history as the first BLACK AFRICAN TO REACH THE SOUTH POLE, ANTARCTICA. The former Lawmaker, Hon Ned through his foundation invited creative talents across Nigeria to interprete his Antarctica Expedition/Experience in different creative genres such as music, shortfilm, drawings, poetry, etc.
With over five thousand entries, and after the various online audition stages, top 10 finalists were selected to battle for 5 Million Naira Worth of Prizes. The top 10 slugged it out at White Desert, Royal Court Villa, life camp in Abuja where the Grand finale was held On 25th April, 2021 being WORLD MALARIA DAY. Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.
The 10 finalists really prepared for the grand finale going by their prowess, creativity and performance. The project coordinator of Ned Nwoko Malaria Eradication and also the Project Manager of Ned Nwoko Antarctica Experience Challenge told audience during his opening remarks that they are in for full entertainment from creative industry and encouraged everyone to join the advocacy and awareness on the scourge of malaria in Nigeria and Africa.
There were scintillating performances from Eedris Abdulkareem of Nigeria jagajaga and hip-hop sensation Faze with both performing their Monster hits. The highpoint of the event was when Mr Chukwuebuka Anyaduba popularly known as Chuks announced the top 5 and top three before he announced spoken word artiste, Ruth Libonghaunim as the winner of Prince Ned Nwoko Antarctica Experience Challenge 2021.
