CBN gives Tuberculosis Treatment Center to Bauchi community

CBN extends alms to Bauchi community by giving away Tuberculosis Treatment Center.
The Bauchi State Branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN through its Alms Committee, has constructed a Tuberculosis Directly Observed Treatment, DOT center valued at over N4 million.
The apex regulatory bank also donated critical hospital equipment to the center.
The succour, which is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility, benefitted communities in the Buzaye, Ganjuwa, and Dawaki wards of the Bauchi Local Government Area.
Speaking while handing over the health intervention center to the Community Head of Ganjuwa, Aminu Ibrahim Tsoho,
the Head of Banking Services at the CBN Bauchi branch reemphasised the bank’s commitment to its corporate social responsibility.
He explained that the bank’s intervention projects are adapted each year to address community needs. “Corporate social responsibility is an established practice across the corporate world. This year, our focus is on health,” Umar said.
He recalled that the previous interventions included the construction of boreholes for water supply and the provision of classroom furniture.
“Our hope is that communities will utilise these resources judiciously for long-term benefit,” he added.
With its latest intervention, CBN Bauchi has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the well-being of residents through improved healthcare infrastructure and resources.
Meanwhile, Tsoho hailed the CBN for completing the new health facility in a short time, even as he expressed the community’s deep appreciation for the gesture.
“The CBN staff has built this facility for us, and we appreciate it,” Tsoho said.
He assured that the community would take proper care of the center, adding, “The residents are working tirelessly to ensure the facility remains in good condition, just as they maintain the hospital.”
Tsoho urged the healthcare staff to carry out their duties diligently for the benefit of the community.
“I call on the management and staff of this facility to discharge their duties responsibly,” he stressed.
Bashir Shehu Nababa, the officer in charge of the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ganjuwa, equally expressed gratitude for the intervention. He assured both the community and the CBN of the center’s upkeep while also expressing the dedication of his team. “We are happy to be among the beneficiaries, and we will take good care of this building,” Nababa said.
Meanwhile, Hauwa Yohanna Adamu, officer in charge of the Urban Maternity Kofar Ran, noted the essential role the new equipment will play. “These items are very important to our work, and we were in dire need of them. We are very grateful,” Adamu stated.
