The Chief Executive Officer of Megastar Media Communications, Moses Adeniyi Ifetayo has started the construction of toilet facility at Junior Secondary School, Dutse Sagwari, Bwari Area Council, Abuja.
Megastarmagazine reports that on Monday Sokoto State government said that 1,160 people were affected by the cholera outbreak, while 25 of the victims have died.
Adeniyi, a renowned promoter of the Megastar Man of the Decade Award, Megastar Magazine also donated 50 benches and tables to the school.
He said these efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and also demonstrate the company’s commitment to improving education and public health in underserved communities.
The philanthropist said the construction of the toilet facility would be completed in few weeks.
Adeniyi stated: “We’re doing two key things aligned with the SDGs. Last week, we visited a school and noticed they needed better furniture for a conducive learning environment.
“Additionally, due to a recent cholera outbreak, we are constructing new toilet facilities. The groundbreaking ceremony was just held, and by God’s grace, the project will be completed in a few weeks.
“As part of the initiative, the company donated 50 benches and tables, capable of accommodating up to 200 students. This gesture coincided with the commemoration of World Toilet Day, further highlighting the company’s commitment to public health and education.”
Adeniyi, however, called on corporate organisations to contribute to the development of public schools, saying the government is overwhelmed and can’t do it all.
“Even small contributions, like providing one or two pieces of furniture, can make a big difference,” he pointed.
Adeniyi noted that he was passionate about social impact, adding that he had supported school fees, medical bills, and housing needs.
He said: “Now, with God’s blessings, I want to expand my efforts. I stand on the shoulders of others and want to offer mine to the next generation.”
Speaking, the School Principal, Dr. Oba Usman expressed gratitude for the support, stressing that the gesture came as a pleasant surprise.
His words: “This gesture came to us as a pleasant surprise—completely unexpected. On behalf of the school, the students, the management, and the FCT as a whole, we are deeply grateful. This effort aligns perfectly with the Universal Basic Education Commission’s policy of ‘education for all is the responsibility of all.”
He also revealed plans to report the development to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) education headquarters and ensure their involvement in the commissioning of the project.
On his part, the Director of Marketing at WellsCarthon Hotel, Abuja, Mr. Jerry Opiughie pledged to cover the school fees for five indigent students.
“It’s about the school, I just need five names so that I can provide school fees for them. I don’t need the family to know me; this is just for my own contribution to the community,” he said.
