Commitment to Creativity, Innovation essential for economic development — Suwaiba
The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, on Tuesday, noted the importance of creativity and innovation in driving Nigeria’s economic development.
During the 2025 National Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation, Ahmad pointed out that the world is evolving rapidly, and it is imperative for Nigeria to foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technical excellence among its youth.
Suwaiba who was represented by the ministry director of colleges of education, Dr. Uche Uba, said:
“The Federal Ministry of Education recognizes the crucial role that creativity and innovation play in our nation’s economic development,” She said.
“We are committed to supporting innovation through various initiatives, including funding for research, incubation hubs, and partnerships with the private sector.”
Going forward, she acknowledged the young innovators participating in the exhibition, saying their ideas and projects are a testament to their brilliance and a beacon of hope for a prosperous future. She encouraged them to remain committed to their pursuits, seek collaborations, and leverage available resources to bring their ideas to fruition.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Yusuf Saheed, Director of reform coordination in the ministry who represented the Permanent Secretary, FME, Dr. Nasir Gwarzo, said the exhibition serves as a collective commitment to fostering ingenuity, technological advancement and creativity in polytechnics and other allied institutions.
The exhibition, which took place at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria in Abuja, showcased groundbreaking ideas, pioneering inventions, and practical solutions to contemporary challenges from students of polytechnics, monotechnics, and innovation enterprises institutions across Nigeria.
