Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price to N875-N905 Per Litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) across Nigeria, effective Thursday. New rates will now range from N875 to N905 per litre, depending on the retail location.
The new pricing represents a N15 reduction per litre across all regions and partner retail outlets. The announcement was made via the official social media channels of Dangote Refinery on Thursday.
The adjusted prices apply to major fuel marketers in partnership with the refinery, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.
Under the previous pricing structure, petrol retailed at N890 per litre in Lagos, while prices reached N920 in the North East and South-South regions. With this latest adjustment, Lagos residents will now pay N875 per litre, and consumers in the North East and South-South will pay N905 per litre.
A breakdown of the revised prices per region is as follows:
    • Lagos: N875
    • South-West: N885
    • North-East: N905
    • North-West & Central: N895
    • South-South & South-East: N905
The Dangote Refinery has advised consumers to purchase fuel exclusively from its partner outlets. It also encouraged Nigerians to report non-compliance through its dedicated hotlines: +234 707 470 2099 or +234 707 470 2100.
In its official notice, the company stated, “Our quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly.”
This price reduction comes as independent oil marketers have reportedly resumed large-scale importation of petrol. Fresh data indicates that over 496.17 million litres of petrol were brought into the country within a nine-day period. Findings from the Tanker Position Report, a document tracking oil tanker movements obtained from Blue Sea Maritime on Monday, revealed that 370,000 metric tonnes of petrol were discharged at various depots after berthing at seaports between May 11 and 20, 2025.
On Monday, the Lekki-based 650,000 barrels per day facility attributed its ability to reduce petrol prices to a “naira-for-crude deal,” which translates to reduced costs at the pumps. The company further affirmed that petrol prices will remain affordable and stable, asserting that it has consistently reduced petrol prices despite fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
