Festac Agog As Nigerian Couple Celebrates Birth Of Twins After 8 Years Of Inability to Conceive
A Nigerian couple has finally dedicated their set of twins, Davina and Darina Ofobike, after 8 years of expectation for the fruit of the womb.
The child dedication which took place at St Matthews Anglican Church, Isamole area of Badagry, Lagos, was attended by family members, friends, neighbours, and business colleagues on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
Speaking in church, during the child dedication, the father of the twins, Mr Victor, explained that God answered them at a time when they can take care of the children.
In his words: “The twins came when we can take care of them. Who knows what would have happened if they had come before now? So, God did it at a time when the children can be taken care of. During the period of the eight years that I and my were believing God for the fruit of the womb, it was not serious. My wife really went through a lot. When the twins came, immediately I called my dad and requested names for them. So their native names came from my dad.”
The mother of the twins expressed gratitude to God for showing up for her and her husband and proving that there is nothing impossible for Him.
She noted that telling the story during the dedication would amount to keeping people in the church because it is not a gist that can be said in a few hours since there is a reception holding at Festac on the same day.
The couple thanked everyone that remembered them in prayer, adding that the result of their prayers is the set of twins God has blessed them with.
The couple’s story is one out of many inspiring stories of couples who had tried to conceive for years and were finally blessed with twins, triplets, and quadruplets.
As the celebration of the birth of the couple’s twins crescendo at Shacils Hotel, Plot 2 Glamour Estate Road, Amuwo Odofin road, Lagos, various traditional rulers, Captains of Industries, family members, friends, clubs were also on the ground.
Among the clubs were Progressive International All Stars (PIAS) and Anambra Peace Forum, Lagos.
