Gbenga Daniel, GFF Unveil Loyalty Card Initiative in Ogun East
* With aim to provide palliative support for vulnerable people.
The Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), in strategic collaboration with Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, came up with its boldest intervention yet — the 2025–2030 Food Security & Humanitarian Funding Initiative, in a landmark move to combat hunger and strengthen humanitarian support systems.
The five-year roll-on program, unveiled in Ijebu North East Local Government Area, aims to provide consistent and tech-driven palliative support for vulnerable populations. The initiative is tailored to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasises sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges.
At the heart of the rollout is the GFF Loyalty ATM Card, an innovative and digitised relief platform designed to deliver emergency and routine palliatives directly to the grassroots. With a strong focus on mothers, widows, children, and low-income families, the card will offer seamless access to funds for basic needs, especially food and medication, in the wake of fuel subsidy removal and ongoing economic instability.
Speaking at the launch, Senator Gbenga Daniel, the Ogun East Senatorial District representative at the National Assembly, reaffirmed his lifelong dedication to grassroots empowerment. “This initiative is a practical response to the growing economic pressures faced by everyday Nigerians,” he said. “Technology, accountability, and compassion must work hand in hand to ensure that no one is left behind.”
The initiative is currently being piloted in four Local Government Areas (LGAS) within the Ogun East Senatorial District, with plans to expand across all nine LGAS in due course. Beneficiaries are enrolled through trained Gateway Movement Representatives stationed at ward and local council levels, who assist with registration, card activation, and follow-up support.
To ensure transparency and efficiency, GFF has partnered with a licensed commercial bank and tech consultants to operate a secure, automated backend system for fund disbursement.
The Loyalty Card isn’t just a tool — it is a symbol of the GFF’s founding philosophy: “Being Your Brother’s Keeper.” This core principle, embedded in the DNA of the Gateway Movement, continues to guide every outreach effort.
Since its establishment in February 2000, GFF has impacted lives across Ogun State and the South West through a wide array of social development programs, including:
*GFF Eye Care and Surgery Initiative: Providing free and subsidised optical health services to vulnerable individuals.
*Empowerment & Skill Acquisition Projects: Offering vocational training and start-up support for women and youth.
*Education Support Programs: Aiding school enrollment through scholarships and learning materials.
The newly launched initiative reaffirms GFF’s role as a frontline player in grassroots transformation. With strengthened partnerships and national backing, especially under the current federal government’s human-centred agenda, the Foundation is poised to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
As the program rolls out, the GFF encourages individuals, organizations, and institutions to join in fostering a culture of shared responsibility and service to humanity.
